Most athletes train everything but the mental game.

Most athletes know what they should do. But when the game speeds up, pressure builds, or something goes wrong, emotions take over. They get frustrated, shut down, or carry one bad play into the next one.

They train hard, technically and physically. No one ever gave them a system for the mental side. That is the gap MRT fills.

The old way:

Hope confidence shows up on game day.

The MRT way:

Train it, like any other skill.

EIGHT PRINCIPLES. ONE SYSTEM.

Mindset Readiness Training teaches athletes to train the mental side of their game with the same intention they bring to the physical side. Simple tools to build confidence, control your response under pressure, recover from mistakes, stay focused, and lead yourself and others.

MINDSET

How you think, respond, and prepare

GOALS

Motivation, commitment, and ownership

FOCUS

DISCIPLINE

MENTAL PERFORMANCE IS A SKILL, NOT A TRAIT.

Meet Joe Goodreau

I know what it feels like to have ability, expectations, and opportunity, but not yet have the mental tools to handle everything happening around you. As a high school athlete, I stepped away from my senior soccer season and watched that team go on to win a state championship. Later that year, I struggled through a baseball season where I was expected to perform at a high level but did not play to my ability. Those moments stayed with me. They shaped the work I do today.

Through business leadership, competitive sports, ultramarathon training, injury recovery, and years of developing people and teams, I learned that performance is not just about talent. It is about confidence, composure, preparation, discipline, resilience, and the ability to respond when things get hard. Mindset Readiness Training was built to help competitive athletes develop those skills earlier, so they can perform with greater confidence under pressure and carry those tools into sport, school, leadership, and life.
